I’ve just taken a photo record of how I removed the fingerboard on the current fiddle I am working on.     You can see it on this blogsite at http://roycampbell.tk/fiddles/removing-a-fingerboard/

The fingerboard came away very quickly and ‘almost’ very cleanly.     Only a slight bit of fingerboard left on the kneck.

The next fiddle project will be what I think is a German trade goods version which has been beautifully faked to make it look old.     It has the usual label “Model Antonius Stradivarius Cremonensis Faciebat anno 1721″.
